Born and educated in the Pacific Northwest, Linda Henson makes her home in Castle Rock, Washington. With the unique balance between realism and impressionism, Linda’s passion for the outdoors inevitably shows up in her paintings. Whether a picturesque garden pathway, or her most notable “DetermiNation”, her skillful use of light, color and subject matter have her well established in the art community. Days will find her in her cozy studio in Castle Rock, (when not on signing tours with DetermiNation) refining a specific element in her latest acrylic creation. She feels that a painting should be more than something that match the décor; “My challenge with every painting is to be able to create a visual retreat. I want people to be drawn into my painting; to be captured by a memory of a place they’ve been or would like to be.” Apparently her clients are convinced. In her nineteen years of acrylic artwork, she has gathered collectors not only here in the Northwest but from across the United States and Europe as well. Her artwork has been commissioned by cities, businesses, and organizations and has won her many recognitions and awards. The Merk, in downtown Longview, features an impressive five panel display depicting the history of Longview. Just for fun, upon the completion of this 40 foot mural, Linda hid several angels in the painting. The public response was overwhelming and the hidden angel has become a trademark of her work. Currently she is on a national signing tour with her latest accomplishment, The Planner. |
